A George IV Silver Meat Plate, John Bridge (Rundell, Bridge & Rundell), London 1828, oval with gadroon and foliate shell border, engraved to both sides of the rim with a coat of arms and the motto scroll Nomen Extendere Factis for Neeld, one side also with a Continental coronet, 50cm wide, 79ozt

The arms on this plate almost certainly for Joseph Neeld (1789-1856) of Grittleton House, Wiltshire, heir to the great Philip Rundell fortune, who inherited the vast sum of around one million pounds from his great uncle in 1828.
