Intriguing collection of the 1918-'19 overprints on Austro-Hungarian types, about 180 stamps written-up on album pages, including (mint unless otherwise stated) 1918 Kolomyia surcharges with 10sot on 6h and 12h (SG.3/4, cat. £5,250; Sc#7/8, $3,400, with expert's handstamp though we cannot guarantee genuine), Kolomyia 50sot registration stamp used on piece (SG.R6; Sc#F2), Stanislaviv first issue incl. 3hr on 3k mint signed Körner (SG.21b; Sc#24), through to fourth issue incl. 3hr on 3k (SG.63; Sc#97); then Romanian Occupation of Pokutia 'C.M.T.' handstamps over seven pages incl. 60h inverted on 20h deep green (Sc#N3a, $3,000) and on 25h blue both with multiple experts' marks, many others with signatures including probably both genuine and forged Baumgarten monograms. A very good effort on this challenging area.

This is once more an exciting sale with several family estate sections which include Irish and Great Britain new issues of the 1920s carefully stored for a century, a series of specialized Eastern Europe collections with excellent Batum and German local occupations of Poland, as well as extensive Great Britain singles with much line-engraved, and through to a very solid finale of postcard collections including a wonderful subject collection with forty Louis Wain, a strong aviation collection with 300 from the 1920s onwards, a large collection of Southern counties topography and much more.
