Fairly siffly relined, cleaned and revarnished. The paint is slightly thinned and somewhat flattened as a result of the restoration process. Various medium to large sized essentailly stable craquelure throughout which is more evident across the sky and mountains. Some surface dirt and discoloured varnish now in evidence. There is little to easily discern under a UV light but it would seem likely that there has been some fairly consistent strengthening throughout the sky with likely some infilling to old craquelure. Some of the darker tones of pigment to denote the dappled light on the expanse of water may be additions. Likely retouches to edges and corners. Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
