There is a relatively minor and fine horizontal split to the panel, approx. centre to left hand side and running around 5 cm in length which is visible with the naked eye and shows a small amount of delicate retouching in line with the damage under a UV light. There is a further area of minor retouching towards the lower left hand corner and edge approx. 2cm from the corner and roughly 1cm across. Small amount of further minor retouching lower edge roughly centre and extending horizontally approx. 8cm in total and not entirely consistently. There is the odd further very minor area of retouching along the lower edge in general with some possible general strengthening in the foreground. Retains good amount of surface and impasto. Some surface dirt and discoloured varnish.

We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
