In restored condition. Relined, cleaned, and revarnished. The pain is slightly thin, especially throughout the sky and the surface is somewhat flattened from the restoration process. There has been an amount of relatively fine and sporadic infilling to old craquelure within the sky. Further retouching and strengthening to the darker pigments and shadows within the trees especially to centre of horizon line and to a lesser extent for the trees on the right hand side, although the trunk of the largest tree (far right) has received a good degree of strengthening to the darker tones. Further fairly sporadic treatment has been given to the similar tones present in the water of the foreground and arguably areas of the white to describe parts of the sky, mostly notably immediately above the horizon has probably received some fairly comprehensive strengthening in addition to some of the greys in the same area. Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
