Portsmouth Harbour example - In fully restored condition, stiffly wax reline, cleaned and re-varnished. Now with surface dirt and discoloured varnish in evidence. The surface is slightly flattened as a result of the restoration process. Sporadic retouches throughout sky which have deteriated and are evident by eye. Some general strengthening and retouching to lower right-hand corner and lower right-hand side edge water in general. Further minimal retouching in the water below and left far left-hand side rowing boat. Minor retouching upper left-hand corner. The majority of the remaining composition is seemingly without notable intervention. Areas of fine stable cracquelure, slight stretcher shadow, minor rubbing to outer edges.

We cannot guarantee a reply to any requests made within 48 hours of the start of the auction. The absence of a Condition Report from a lot does not mean that the lot is in perfect condition.
