A commercially prepared canvas on original stretcher, two keys missing but good tension. The stretcher has a slight split along the bottom member.

Brittle age craquelure and impact cracquelure through the thicker passages of paint, especially in the middle right of the sky and the backs of the horsemen. All stable and not elevated.

Possilby some very minor abrasion/thinning of the dark red glazes, but paint in generally very nice condition.

A good even varnish, with a couple of brown drips to the sky top right and scattered tiny surface accretions.

We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
