Pronounced staining across sheet with general reduction to overall colour depth. Scattered foxing spot, some of which has been disguised with some retouches in white gouache or similar. In addition to concealing scratches and the same technique has been adopted to conceal surface scratches pit mark and imperfections within the sky. Further pit marks, and damages which have received little or no intervention to lower left-hand corner. A further cluster of same issue to the lower reaches of standing figure and vertically arranged additions to standing figures, general waistline area. See images. Foxing to mount in general, no evidence of cockling, not examined out of the frame. Some areas of the surface are slightly worn or abraded such as the left-hand side of the vessel held by standing figure and the general condition of the surface, with numerous staining pit marks and scratching, fairly poor. We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
