Bolckow, Henry William Ferdinand. An impressive archival collection of documents, legal instruments, maps and similar relating to the Bolckow family of Middlesbrough, with particular reference to the purchase and ownership of Marton Hall and Estate in 1855. The Bolckow family were one of the most important iron dynasties in Middlesbrough. The documents weave the story of the families' involvement with the land and hall and involve many other major families of the city, such as the Vaughans and Revd. James Park. Along with a collection of documents relating to Dorothy Bolckow and Margaret Dorman's estates, including personal papers and receipts showing the lives of eminent ladies of the period and a framed photograph of the launching of Kosmov V, Haverton Hill, 1948. A hugely important resource for Middlesbrough's social history
