Taxidermy: A Wall Cased Stork-Billed Kingfisher & Pied Kingfisher, circa early 20th century, by Edward Gerrard & Sons, Taxidermist & Osteologists, 61 college Place, Camden Town, London, a full mount adult Stork-billed Kingfisher with head slightly raised, perched upon a painted branch, a full mount adult Pied Kingfisher below with wings outspread in flying pose, amidst a natural setting of reeds, grasses and fauna, mounted upon a painted faux rock bolder, set against a watercolour painted graduated dusk sky back drop, enclosed within an octagonal picture frame style wall mounted nine-glass display case, 38cm by 19cm by 50.5cm, bearing taxidermist's full paper trade label to verso, small hand written label to underside glass panel - "Deposited on loan by Capt. J. Straker 1912". Previously owned by Capt J. Straker, 3rd Regiment, West Yorkshire Regiment, His Royal Highness Prince of Wales Own Regiment.
