A French Silver-Gilt Twin Handled Cup and Cover, maker's mark indistinct, Paris 1st standard, 1819-1838, the bowl on acanthus and shell support to a square pedestal base with four foliate shell bracket feet, gadroon borders, the cover engraved with a Duke's coronet, the bowl with twin crests being that of a unicorn's head erased, and a boar's head erased, within the motto surround Nemo Me Impune Lacessit, and Order of the Thistle collar, probably for Innes-Ker, Dukes of Roxburghe, 26cm high, 23oz 2dwt

Marked to bowl; foot and cover twice. Engraving is crisp and clear, some gilding wear primarily to cover. Cover fits well and the cup sits straight. The reverse of the cup possibly erased, one area is somewhat thinner and some small dings in that area.
