A Victorian Silver-Mounted Oak Flagon, by John Newton Mappin, London, 1890, the oak body plain tapering and with applied silver straps, with angular handle, the flat hinged cover with openwork thumbpiece and engraved with an inscription, 25.7cm high

Sold by Order of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers to Benefit the Fusiliers Aid Society (13 January Jewellery, Watches and Silver sale, lots 2273-2307 and Antiques and Interiors sale, 5 January 2024 lots 1-16).
The inscription reads 'Presented to The Officer 1st Batt'n Lancashire Fusiliers by the Officers 12th Field Battery R.A. Honorary Members of the Mess 1888-1894'.

The second part of the Regimental Silver Collection will be included in the Jewellery, Watches and Silver Sale on 13th January.
