A Pair of George III Silver Candlesticks

on domed circular base and with tapering stem, the base and stem chased, presumably later, with foliage and flowers, engraved with a crest, the stem terminates in part-fluted vase-shaped socket with detachable foliage and flower chased nozzle, filled

Each fully marked on base and further part marked on nozzle. There is some wear to the marks but in general they are still legible. There is some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is excess wax inside the sockets of each. This is particularly obvious on one and prevents the nozzle from fitting in properly. There is some bruising to the socket, particular on one. The decoration was presumably added later in the 19th century. The gross weight is 1,716gr.
