Amy Emms MBE (1904-1998), was brought up in a household where quilting was an everyday activity, and by the age of 14 she was assisting her mother making quilts to supplement their income. During the war she joined the British Legion and this led her to teaching and promoting the quilt revival and her distinctive regional style of quilting.
