A Mid-19th Century Bone Fan, with brightly coloured lithographed double velum (?) leaf, the monture

A Mid-19th Century Bone Fan, with brightly coloured lithographed double velum (?) leaf, the monture carved, pierced and gilded, the gorge elaborate in three shades of gold, a central floral spray surrounded by birds and butterflies. The recto shows an Alpine scene with a farmer dressed in a country smock, standing beside his loaded cart which is pulled by bullocks. Several ladies and another man and boy are present wearing regional costumes. Signed to the left F. Dandiyoor? The reserves are richly decorated in gold and at each side of the central cartouche feature portraits of elegantly dressed ladies. The verso is less decorative with a simple rural scene of distant hills and buildings with spires in a wooded area. The reserves have some gold detailing. Guard length 10.5 inches or 26.5cm. Together with A Fan, with lithographic double paper leaf married to an earlier ivory monture with figures carved on the guards. The gorge is painted with sweeping floral curves of blue, yellow and lilac flowers. The recto shows men and women in Baroque costume, the men with lace collars and breeches, seated at a table covered with sumptuous table carpet playing chess. Side vignettes depict courting couples in costume, and two magnificent castles. The verso, in cream with gold, shows a courting couple by a well. Numbers appear to be printed on each side, with "2259" to the left and "J???" to the right. Guard length10.75 inches or 27.5cm (2)

First fan, slight loss to the gilding on the upper guard but otherwise in good condition, bright strong colour. Fan 2, nothing noted.
