A Four-Piece George V Silver Tea-Service, by Edward Barnard and Sons Ltd., London, 1926, 1927 and 1928, each piece with reeded band and on lion mask-capped paw feet, comprising: a teapot; a hot-water jug, each with ebonised handle and finial; a cream-jug and a sugar-bowl, the hot-water jug 17.7cm high, gross weight 47oz 6dwt; Together With: A Silver Plate Mounted Oak Tray, with openwork gallery and on four bun feet, applied with a shield with an engraved inscription from the Great Yarmouth town council dated 1928, 51.5cm wide

. Each piece from the tea-service is fully marked underneath. The teapot and hot-water jug further part marked inside cover. There are some surface scratches and wear, consistent with age and use. The cover of the teapot is slightly bruised and so doesn't close properly. There are otherwise some small dings. The tray has some wear to the silver plate. This is especially noticeable to the shield which has lost approximately 3/4 of the plating. The inscription reads 'This Tray and Accompanying Silver Tea and Coffee Set were presented to Mr Walter Lewis Smith Borough Accountant by the Members of the Gt Yarmouth Town Council & the Chief Officials of the Borough as a token of their esteem & Friendship & to mark his completion of fifty year zealous and devoted service in the financial department of the Corporation Sept 11th 1928'.
