A Pair of Arita Lacquered Porcelain Vases, Meiji period, of baluster form applied with dragons, decorated with birds in panels, 60cm high, A Similar Pair of Cylindrical Vases, 44cm high (4)

Arita vase one - losses to the lacquer on the rim and around the foot, crazing to the lacquer, some paint scratches, a large section in red repainted and is badly flaking, Arita vase two - restoration to the rim and loss to the lacquer there also, large noticeable losses to the lacquer around the foot and base, large red painted area and neck with heavy paint losses
The other pair of vases, one with a large hairline crack from the shoulder to the foot and some losses to the applied decoration, the other vase also with a hairline crack from shoulder to midway down the body, several large chips to the foot and losses to the applied decoration, both vases rubbed to gilded decoration

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
