Field Marshall Montgomery of Alamein - a Handwritten Letter dated 1st February 1959, with a Photograph, in Original Envelope, in reply to an enquiry regarding Colonel Montgomery (Uncle of the above). The original typed letter from an L.A. Ingle of Morley, states that he befriended Colonel Montgomery and his daughter on a voyage back to England from Kenya and asks if they were related, a photograph of them was included. Field Marshall Montgomery has written his reply on the reverse of the letter, stating that the Colonel was his father's brother and that his daughter Daisy Montgomery had married and become Lady Thomas. He includes her address, saying she would be very interested in the snapshot.
