The leaf on the first fan is slightly rubbed on the folds and has one pinprick, an inch or so of the top gold border is fraying. The mother of pearl is light and airy and the gilding is good. Two small patches of repair to the leaf as seen from the verso. Both guards have broken and been well repaired. The paper fan has nicks and very small tears to some folds but the fan is strong.
We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
