pear-shaped and on spreading gadrooned foot, the hinged cover with gadrooned border and wrythen knop, the handle later raffia covered, the angular spout cast with a shell, engraved underneath with initials

Fully marked underneath. The cover bezel further marked with lion passant and maker's mark. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There are no obvious thin or uneven areas but it is possible the pot has been erased. The raffia on the handle has been re-done.
