A First/Second World War Group of Family Medals, comprising a British War Medal and Victory Medal posthumously awarded to 234538 GNR.C.COX, R.F.A., in postal box of issue with Record Office letter, and an un-named silver and enamel shooting medallion hallmarked Birmingham 1906; a 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Arctic Star (issued 2013) and 1939-45 War Medal, posthumously awarded to Master Reynold Tate, Merchant Navy, with commemorative scroll and printed research material. (Reynold Tate was Master of the Merchant Steam Ship Waziristan when it was torpedoed and sunk with the loss of all crew, by the German U-134 on 2nd January 1942. It was the first ship to be lost on the Arctic Convoy); an Imperial Service Medal, awarded to ANTONY ROY WOODCOCK, in case of issue; also, a silver cigarette case presented to Air Navigator F.G.Arliss, Winner of the "Skyways Trophy" January 1943, a Royal Life Saving Society Medal awarded to him July 1930, his raised bullion thread cap badge, photographs and ephemera, including newspaper cuttings reporting that he was missing in action over Germany, (qty)

The sale will offer a range of good medals, including a rare silver medal struck to commemorate the death of Captain James Cook, and a Second World War MM Group of Eight Medals, awarded to Corporal Frank Shepherd of the 1st-5th Battalion the Queen’s Royal Regiment.

Amongst a good offering of militaria in the sale is a Victorian 1847 Pattern Gilt Brass Helmet to an Officer 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards, a First World War Cameron Highlander’s Kilt and Sash which belonged to Private George Potts Brown, and an Early 19th Century Naval Officer’s Dirk.

A rare 19th Century Percussion Single Barrel Big Game Rifle by William Powell & Son of Birmingham leads a selection of fine guns in the sale, also of note are a Pair of 19th Century 40 Bore Side-by-Side Double Barrel Percussion Travelling Pistols.
