Antlers/Horns: Mid-Asian Ibex (Capra sibirica alaiana), circa 1892-1893, Tilail Valley, Kashmir, Northern India, a set of large adult horns on cut upper skull, right horn 114.5cm (45"), left horn 118cm (46¼"), tip to tip 41cm, mounted upon an ebonised shield, painted number 20 to shield, reference within game book entry - " No. 20 is a good Ibex from Tilail, his length of horn 47" but was over 48" before part of the base of the horn was eaten away by fish insect, which is so destructive to horns of animals which have a core inside the horn". Taken by J Campbell. Recorded at position 15 in Rowland Wards Records of Big Game, dated 1896.
