A Collection of Mainly Chinese Porcelain, including Qianlong blue and white plates, a crackle glazed jar and cover painted with temple dogs, various Cantonese wares including a vase with mask handles, an earthenware spoon warmer in the form of a toad, and a Chinese provincial blue and white dish painted with a mountainous landscape on hardwood stand (two trays) (a.f)

Large Blue and White Dish - extensively, but well restored. 36.5cm diameter. Large Canton Vase - heavily restored. Canton Teapot - chips to cover and rim. Canton Box - repaired cover. Canton brushpot - hairline crack from the rim to the base. Some repainting and rubbing to the gilding. Miniature Canton Vase - heavy repair and some losses. Blue and White ginger jar - star cracks throughout the body. Blue and White Vase and Cover - modern. Generally OK. Blue and White Teapot - cover with old stapled repairs and losses. Main body with old staple repairs throughout and a chip to the rim and spout. Toad - with losses to the feet. Losses to the glaze on the rim and nose. Imari Ginger Jar - lacking cover and with starcrack to the base. Blue and White Bowl - numerous hairline cracks. Six plates - with varying degrees of condition but all with hairline cracks, starcracks and multiple chips.

This sale will include over 100 lots from the Estate of Stephen Hamilton Rawlings, Scarborough. Mr Rawlings was an avid collector, and this sale will offer 19th century British and European ceramics and pictures. Coming up in specialist, Country House and Fine Sales will be a plethora of other interesting items in the collection including taxidermy, postcards predominantly featuring Dartmouth, good 18th and 19th British ceramics and a fine collection of early 19th century Toby Jugs.
Also included is a mix of affordable traditional art and antiques, jewellery, and a private collection of lever and verge pocket watches, fob watches and pocket watch chains.
