A George I Walnut, Crossbanded and Feather-Banded Bureau, early 18th century, the fall enclosing a fitted interior of pigeon holes, small drawers and a cupboard door above a sliding well, the base of two short over two long drawers, on bracket feet (good colour), 80cm by 48cm by 95cm

Good colour and patina. The fall is very slightly misshapen to the top left-hand corner. Minor repairs throughout consistent with age, mainly around the escutcheon and crossbanding. Previous handle marks visible, mainly on the top two drawers and the bottom drawer. Section of veneer to front-right bracket foot present, however the smaller section just below the moulding is missing. Back left-hand corner above bracket feet with small section of moulding also missing (see images) With keys. Interior with various ink stains and faults around the hinges, lock, and fall (see images). The bracket feet are old with signs of strengthening and repair work, no traces of having had bun feet (see images).
