Antlers/Horns: Chinkara or Ravine Deer (Gazella bennettii), circa mid-late 19th century, Rowland Ward Record Class adult male head mount, right horn 32.5cm (12¾"), left horn 32.5cm (12¾"), tip to tip 17cm, mounted upon a rustic shaped shield, with small attached plaque faintly inscribed "Chinkara", another set of Rowland Ward Record Class adult male horns on upper skull, right horn 27.5cm (10½"), left horn 28.5cm (11"), tip to tip 14cm, mounted upon a hardwood shield, with small attached plaque "76 Ravine Deer", reference within game book entry -"The following 24 specimens were killed by George Greig, late 93rd High's, and sent here in 1899 on the death of Col A.C. Nightingale in whose house there were hanging", together with four other good sized Chinkara horns on cut upper skulls, mounted upon matching ebonised shields, two examples bearing painted number 9, the other two examples number 10, reference within game book entry - "No 9 & 10, Heads of Indian Ravine Deer, shot probably in the Salt Range but i shot a good many in different places".
