A Pair of Early 19th Century Pearlware Titled Figures, Sailor's "Departure" and "Return", 23cm

From the Estate of Stephen Hamilton Rawlings, Scarborough.

"Departure" - Loss to the bocage. Sailor has been re-painted, possibly hiding damage. Two noticeable chips to the base. "Return" - numerous losses to the glaze around the brim of the sailors hat. Some around the ladies hat. Wear to hands. Firing crack around the base. Two chips and wear to the base also.

This sale will include over 100 lots from the Estate of Stephen Hamilton Rawlings, Scarborough. Mr Rawlings was an avid collector, and this sale will offer 19th century British and European ceramics and pictures. Coming up in specialist, Country House and Fine Sales will be a plethora of other interesting items in the collection including taxidermy, postcards predominantly featuring Dartmouth, good 18th and 19th British ceramics and a fine collection of early 19th century Toby Jugs.

Also included is a mix of affordable traditional art and antiques, jewellery, and a private collection of lever and verge pocket watches, fob watches and pocket watch chains.
