Douglas Haig, George Clemenceau and David Beatty Interest :- Three £1 Treasury Banknotes, one signed and inscribed D Haig, Paris 29 Oct. 1918, C56 No.331822, one signed D. Beatty, C56 No.331825, and with an accompanying hand written note with Grand Fleet letterhead, dated 27.10.18 "Herewith as requested one Pound note duly signed, David Beatty", and one signed G Clemenceau, C56 No.331821, and clipped to an accompanying typed letter with Le President du Conseil, Ministre de la Guerre Rèpublique Francaise letterhead, dated 21 Nov.1918 addressed to the Mayor of Huddersfield, and which roughly translates "I'm happy to send you under this cover a £1 note bearing the signature of the President of the Council which you kindly requested in favour of the Huddersfield Red Cross Committee".
