A First World War/North West Frontier Group of Five Medals, awarded to Captain Norman Edward V. Kynaston, Liverpool Regiment, comprising a 1914-15 Star (2.LIEUT. L'POOL R.), British War Medal, Victory Medal, General Service Medal 1918-62 with MID oak leaf and clasp S.PERSIA, and India General Service Medal 1909 with clasp AFGHANISTAN N.W.F. 1919 (CAPT.N.E.V.KYNASTON, M.C. 2/KING'S REGT.), together with research material, Birth and Death certificates
Footnote:- Norman Edward Vernon Kynaston served for three and a half years in the Territorial Force before the First World War including a years attachment to the 1st West Yorkshire Regiment, 1st Rifle Brigade and 2nd/60th Rifles in peace time. He applied for a Permanent Regular Commission in 1914 and later applied for a permanent position with the Indian Army. He was selected for appointment as a probationer in the Indian Army (1/55 Coke's Rifles) and embarked on a troopship bound for India on 20th March 1918. He later reverted to the British service at his own request and was posted to the 2nd Battalion, Liverpool Regiment 6th August 1919.
