Great Britain

The so-called white (or oxidised pink) Maltese cross of Cirencester, tying three-margins plate 8 penny black to a large part of cover incorporating clearly struck Cirencester Feb. 3rd 1841 datestamp. A good example of this interesting curiosity, accompanied by 1949 Philatelic Adviser with short article arguing for the authenticity of the white cross based on the Cirencester origin, and 1987 RPS certificate with the opposite opinion.
