A Matched Set of Six Yewwood Thames Valley Windsor Armchairs, 2nd quarter 19th century, the pierced splats with moulded roundels above outswept arms and elm and ash moulded seats, on turned legs joined by a crinoline stretcher, the largest 56cm by 42cm by 90cm See illustration

Chair one - overall good. Some very slight movement in arm joint. Chaitr two - small natural splits at the rear section of the moulded seat. This has been partly repaired. The back section above the leg structurally OK. Chair three - some natural faults in the cross grain of the seat. rear legs with slightly varnished finish, traces of wear to rear-left leg. Chair three - slight movement in joints, some old worm holes in the left arm which have been partly filled and polished. Old repair on the back-right hand corner of the seat to a good standard. Chair five - structurally sound and legs slightly varnished. Chair six - some slight movement in joints. Right-hand arm old worm holes with repair at the back section. Opposing arm probably later and repaired above the support. Some old splits which have been partly filled and polished at the rear of the seat. Otherwise chairs four are similar the other two are lighter.
