~ A Green Chinoiserie Eight Day Longcase Clock with Rocking Father of Time Automata, signed Edward Greatrex, Birmingham, circa 1750, green chinoiserie case with gilt painted floral decoration, trunk dial with oriental scenes depicting a pagoda, boats and figures, 14-1/4-inch arched brass dial with a silvered chapter ring signed, dial arch with a rocking "Father of Time" aperture, dial centre with a lunar scale and date aperture, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and inside countwheel striking on a bell, 240cm high see illustration

05.06.19. Case is nicely aged throughout, gilt painted scenes are discoloured, case with cracks, chips and rubbing in parts, some surfaces feel dry and some shrinkage to the paint, door mouldings with splits, base with scuff marks, dial is slightly discoloured, movement is clean, with two weights and a pendulum.
