English School (19th Century): Cut Out Silhouette of a Gentleman, half length wearing a top hat, black ink on paper, 11cm by 8cm; and Five Further Examples, depicting young men and gentlemen, some in Regency costume, one inscribed verso "Richard Thompson Skerratt", one oval, black ink with some partial gilding on three examples, various sizes (6)

The Gentleman in the top hat is descibed is a cut out, it does have quite a clean white background although there is some slight dirt to the underside of the glass, contained within a varnished yellow frame and gilt inset slip. Two of the silhouettes have rather faded, yellowed backgrounds, with some slight foxing and some dirt to the underside of the glass. Two further examples are cut out silouettes and all are contained within wooden varnished frames with slight chips and marks.
