An Early 20th Century Handmade Brussels Bobbin Lace Fan, mounted on light pink mother of pearl sticks, the monture plain. The fan is finished with a knotted and fringed cream silk tassel. Guard length 10 inches or 25cm. Together with a wooden fan box, covered in gold, blue and silver coloured paper, labelled inside the slightly domed lid "J Duvelleroy 167 Regent Street, London W"; and A Late 19th Century Gilded Wooden Fan, the monture carved and pierced and with sticks continuing up onto the leaf à la Sultane. The single leaf is formed from bands of cream silk alternating with machine insertion lace, the top border being wider and finished with a shaped edge. Guard length 9 inches or 23cm (2)

Fan 1 - In good order, very very slight discoloration to the lace. The box has no fastening nor seems to ever have had. Fan 2 - Generally sound albeit a bit soiled. The gilding is rubbed in places. The ribbon on the verso has losses (second layer) and is detached at one end on the bottom border.
