Circa 1900, A Horse Racing Fan, the monture of bone, the upper guard having a metal-encased pencil attached. The double leaf is painted with a scene of six racehorses at full gallop, their jockeys wearing various silks, signed "T. Puging". The gorge sticks are marked for the user to record betting results. The verso is plain. Guard length 8.5cm or 21.5cm. Together with a cream silk covered fan box with "Duvelleroy, London 167 Regent Street, embossed inside the lid. Gold initials on the exterior. The underneath of the box bears an adhesive label for Sotheby's Sussex

Good, clean. The silk is badly rubbed/fraying on the box lid.
