A.Chenery, Royal Fusiliers 20.02.1907; transferred to Army Reserve in Calcutta 19.02.1914; discharged 6.08.1914 and promoted to Sergeant, Calcutta Police Force; re-enlisted with RE, 172068 Sapper 29.10.1915; offered a commission as Lieutenant, I.A.R.O. (Indian Army Reserve Officers), Supply & Transport, demobilised at Mhow 10.12.1919; appointed Overman at the Loyabad Coke Manufacturing Co.Ltd., India 1920; joined East India Railways 1925; became Assistant Yard Master 1935; granted Emergency commission as 2nd Lt. Indian Engineers, Indian Army 1943; appointed as Adjutant, 37 Operating Group, E.I.Ry.D OF I. Corps (Railways)1943; released from Army Service 1946 with rank of Captain. Also awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal. Retired to the Isle of Wight.
