A Commemorative Fan, produced in 1893 in conjunction with the World's Columbian Exhibition held that year in Chicago. The Trade Fair was held to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the arrival in the New World of Christopher Columbus, in 1492. Double paper leaf mounted on plain wooden sticks, a bird's eye view of the complex and the coastline. The verso is applied with advertising for Ewing and Forster Bicycles, Harrisburg, PA. Guard length 13 inches or 33cm and A Commemorative Fan, produced in 1893 in conjunction with the World's Columbian Exhibition held that year in Chicago. The Trade Fair was held to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the arrival in the New World of Christopher Columbus, in 1492. The recto shows buildings used for the Exhibition and is marked with the Trades showing within. Monture of wood, leaf of treated paper, pale blue and glossy to the verso. Copyright for John W. Green. Fan 1 - Fair, folds splitting. Good colour. Fan 2 - Wear to folds and some damage to the leaf, mainly top and bottom edges, the worst to the left side.
