A Japanese Shinto Katana, the 69.5cm blade with almost horizontal hamon, the tang with faint signature to each side and with single mekugi an, one piece copper habaki with burred edge, iron tsuba applied with parcel gilt bronze birds in flight over waves, the green braid bound same hilt with bronze dragon menuki and chrysanthemum decorated bronze fuchi and kashira, the black lacquer saya decorated with stylised seaweed in red

Two tiny nicks to edge near tip of blade, with some black patching to the surface and a small delamination mark to the middle back edge. The iron tsuba is missing some gilt. The green braid is a little frayed around the menuki. Saya has a flake and crack near the mouth and the suspension locket is a little loose.
