The items are in good condition. The multi-gemstones are believed to be tourmaline, but the nature of the stones does not allow for definitive testing. The necklace fastens with a tongue and box catch and features a figure-of-eight safety clasp. The necklace is inscribed 'Van Cleef & Arpels' but it is not sold as such. The necklace is stamped '750' and '18K' and in our opinion it would test as gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; caratweight 3.00, colour I/J/K, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
