In fully restored condition re-lined, cleaned and re-varnished. Some dirt and discoloured varnish in evidence. There is a band of overppainting and restoration running the entire width of the top edge which is approx 5/6cm at its widest point, with further general re-touching and strengthening around the subtle foliage within the upper right hand side background. The shadows of the drapery at her right hand side cuff have been strengthened as has the shadows around her right hand side hand and wrist with further similar treatment to the definition and shadows of the dark blue fabric attached around her bust, and also the shadows and definition to her left hand side hand and the folds within the fabric of the left hand shoulder. An isolated area of her hair at bust height has had some minor treatment, probably at a different period. The surface is slightly flattened by the process in places, however the cleaning process has significantly affected the integrity of the blue of her dress which is now thin and flat to the extent that the weave of the canvas is evident. There is likely some old strengthening to the background within the lower area and darker elements of her hair. Odd minor superficial scuff and abrasions, varnish has deteriorated to a mildly opaque quality, particularly in the upper left hand corner making the fine stable cracquelure more apparent. There is some old, fine re-touches to the dark blue attached fabric at her left hand shoulder and further similar sized re-touches visible with the eye within her hair etc.
