In fully restored condition, re-lined, cleaned and re-varnished with slightly flat appearance to the surface as a result of the restoration process. Some surface dirt and discoloured varnish now in evidence. The outer edge and upper edge of the foliage above the sitter's head has been overpainted and restored, as has much of the foliage on the right hand side running along the right hand side edge. The right hand side of her cheek and neck and left hand side of cheek and neck has been strengthened, general relatively sporadic overpainting and strengthening to her hair and elements of the shadows within the drapery on her left hand side arm. Further overpainting to upper left hand corner and mid area of the upper left hand side background. Small isolated area of minor infilling to old craquelure at the wrist of her right hand arm, general strengthening to the drawing of the lower right hand side background and lower right hand corner, similarly repeated in lower left hand corner with two patches of further overpainting of a different date within the shadow and edge of the lower tip of blue drapery on the left hand side, and another approx 50cm above this. Fine to large sized craquelure throughout which is more apparent in places and with some areas having had some apparent remedial work. The paint is slightly thin in places especially with in the blue drapery within the lower left hand corner and much of the paint here looks slightly out of period etc In fair to reasonable condition.
