In fully restored condition. Re-lined, cleaned and re-varnished. The surface is somewhat flat from the restoration process. Reasonably sporadic and fine re-touches within the sky and background on the right hand side (which is discoloured and evident with the eye) and left hand side, with some heavier and consistent over painting on the left hand side, mostly along the edges and corners. There are two reasonably large patches of over paint/ repair. One to the right of the far left hand side figure and is approx 2cm by 4cm; the other to right and above the crouching figure and is approx 4-5cms by 4-5cms at widest and longest points. Some strengthening to the definition of the trees on the left hand side and right hand side. Re-touching to lower edge approx centre and more delicate and sporadic touches elsewhere within the foreground. Isolated fine stable cracquelure. Surface dirt and discoloured varnish.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
