A Mahogany Quarter Striking Table Clock, triple pad top pediment with a carrying handle, fish scale pierced side sound frets, bracket shaped feet, 8-inch arched dial painted in the corners with biblical figures of St Matthew, St Mark, St Luke and St John, silvered Roman and Arabic numeral dial with a later inscription John Thwaites, London, the arch with strike/silent selection dial, twin fusee movement with an anchor escapement, quarter and hour striking on two bells, movement backplate with engraved borders and with a central later inscription, secured in by movement brackets, later dial, 49cm high over handle

24.08.18, Case with small cracks to the veneers in parts, small pieces of veneer have been replaced in parts, veneers are slightly lifting and missing in parts and with small chips, case sides with small vacant holes, brass surfaces are discoloured, side frets with back silks worn and damaged, side of the brass door with brass lifting, back door with chips and losses to the veneers, movement is dirty, later dial, dial back plate with vacant holes, painted dial sheet is lifting and is bent in parts, later dial and movement signatures, strike/silent selection is not working, strike is working, movement in going order.
