A Brass Striking and Repeating Carriage Clock, stamped Soldano on the Platform Escapement, circa 1890, carrying handle and repeat button, enamel dial with Roman numerals, twin barrel movement with a silvered platform lever escapement stamped to the underside Soldano, striking on a blued steel gong, movement backplate numbered 8824, 17.5cm high over handle

The JS escapements are usually found in Soldano clocks were in all probability produced for him in Switzerland. See Charles (Allix) Carriage Clocks Their History and Development, pg.450

22.08.18, Brass surfaces are discoloured, case is dirty in parts, front glass panel with one minor chip to the bottom right hand corner, dial with minor scratches, platform escapement is discoloured, movement plates look slightly dirty, movement backplate with small scratches, strike and repeat are working, movement in going order.
