Sweynheim, Conrad; Pannartz, Emmanuel
Single leaf from Sermones et Epistulae of Leo I c.1470. Sweynheim and Pannartz were German emigres working in Italy who published works of the Church Fathers and the classics. This printing may have been the editio princeps of the work (another was produced in the same year. The Ashendene Press copied the type for their Subiaco typeface.
With two engravings of Ripon Cathedral by D King, possibly from Dugdale's Monasticon Anglicanum. All three framed and glazed, incunabula double-sided.
