The painting is in an overall good state of preservation. There is a small patch of repainting on the tail of hound where it meets the hind quarters. There is also some small isolated patches of older retouching in the vegetation to the right of the hounds snout and also above the head. The edges have had a small amount of repainting, presumably where a loose frame has caused some losses. The painting has a circa 1960's glue reline. 060313

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
