Taxidermy: A Fine Example of a European Barn Owl (Tito alba), circa 1926, by renowned taxidermist Peter Spicer, of Leamington, full mount adult bird perched upon a tree branch issuing from a lichen and moss encrusted tree stump, mounted above ferns, tall grasses and plant work, set against a watercolour painted back board, enclosed within a typical ebonised three-glass table display case, 37cm by 33cm by 51cm, the groundwork within signed P. Spicer & Son's, Leamington, 1926

Originally commissioned by a Mr W. Montgomery, and bearing a Castle Douglas train travel label to the verso, the current vendor believed to be only the 2nd owner from new, available for the first time on the open market
