A Dainty Early 20th Century Fan, the double embroidered cream silk leaf mounted on pink mother...

A Dainty Early 20th Century Fan, the double embroidered cream silk leaf mounted on pink mother of pearl. The recto shows a simple spray of branches of foliage with two birds flowing above, all painted the red and deep pink flowers blooming on the boughs embroidered in strong red and cerise. The gold metal loop holds a cream silk tassel with elaborate knotting and fringes. Guard length 10 inches or 25.5cm. Together with a covered card fan box designed to represent animal skin; and A 19th Century Wooden Telescopic Fan, the monture carved and pierced and gilded, the double silk leaf painted with pink roses, smaller blue flowers, and foliage. Sequins of varying shapes are embroidered onto the silk. The verso is plain. Length closed:7 inches or 118cm. Length extended: 9.5 inches or 24cm (2)

Fan 1 - Generally sound and clean. Some faint foxing to the verso and some small areas of wear to the bottom border of the verso. Fan 2 - Clean, some losses to the sequins, the action works well, the upper guard has a split but does not seem to hider movement.
