Napoleonic Warfare: Circa 1880's Fan, the green/pink mother-of-pearl sticks mounted with a double velum leaf, depicting centrally a battle scene, with Napoleon's troops wearing the distinctive shako on their heads, charging an artillery battery, swords drawn, the officer to the right of the canon wearing the Légion d'honneur, the wounded lying around, and bearing a signature "Luck". The offensive could be against Prussia, Russia or Austria? To the left of the central cartouche, a French Light Infantry soldier in ornate uniform, to the right an officer of the 1st Empire Grenadiers, bearing a standard, wearing the characteristic headwear with the Imperial Eagle (the emblem chosen by Napoleon in 1804). The monture is silvered and gilded featuring sabres, headwear, guns, as does the upper guard. The verso is plain. Guard length 11.5 inches or 29cm
