A Pierced and Painted Ivory "Four Way" Brisé Fan, with pointed tips to the sticks, circa 1830. The four central scenes depict a river near mountains with buildings on the banks; a rural cottage with a mountain in the background, location, a classical picture of cut flowers against a dark background, and an unusual grouping of exotic birds and monkeys perched in a tree. The fan is further decorated with a garland of flowers. Twenty-five inner sticks and two guards. Guard length 6.75 inches or 17cm
