The King's Police Medal and a Late 19th/Early 20th Century Family Group:- eight awarded to Samuel Taylor of the Metropolitan Police, comprising India General Service Medal with clasp CHIN-LUSHAI 1889-90 named 2041.L/C. S.TAYLOR. 2ND NORFOLK REGT., Jubilee (Police) Medal 1897 to P.C. S.TAYLOR H.DIVIN, Coronation (Police) Medal 1902, Coronation (Metropolitan Police) Medal 1911 to P.C. S.TAYLOR, 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal to GS-14929 PTE.S.TAYLOR, R.FUS., and King's Police Medal to SAMUEL TAYLOR, CONST. MET.POLICE, with framed citation dated 27th November 1921; a General Service Medal 1918-62, with clasp CYPRUS, to FLT.LT. W.T.G.TAYLOR. R.A.F. (son of the above), with the miniature and a South Africa 1900 tin. Footnote:- Constable Samuel Taylor was awarded the King's Police Medal in recognition for the bravery shown in rescuing some children from a house fire. He moved the children out of the house, but he became trapped. He took shelter in a cupboard, and, although badly burned, survived.
